Guide

How to use Purrclick.

Everything the app can do, and what to try if something looks off.

Turn it on or off

  • Double-click the cat to switch sounds on or off.
  • Press Ctrl + Alt + M from anywhere. A little meow means it's on.
  • Or right-click the cat in your tray and pick Sounds on.
  • A sleepy grey cat means sounds are off.

Change the sound

  1. Click the cat once. A small panel opens.
  2. Scroll the list or type in Search sounds.
  3. Tap any sound to hear it. It's picked straight away.
  4. Drag the Volume slider at the bottom.

Style the ripple

  1. In the small panel, pick a style: Ring, Double, Glow, Dot or Paw.
  2. Pick colours for Left and Right clicks.
  3. For size and speed, press Customize ripple. The full dashboard opens on the Ripple tab.
  4. Click inside the test area to preview.

Keyboard sounds

  1. Open the full dashboard, go to Keyboard & more.
  2. Switch Play a sound when I type on or off.
  3. Pick Marshmallow, Thock, Bubble keys, Sleepy type or Kitty paws.
  4. It never records what you type.

Hide the cat

  • Hover the cat and press the small x.
  • Or drag it to the edge of the screen. It tucks in so only the ears show, and pops out when you hover.
  • Sounds keep working while the cat naps.

Quiet times

  • Purrclick goes quiet in Zoom and Teams by default.
  • Add more apps in Keyboard & more > Quiet in these apps, separated by commas, for example Discord.exe.
  • Turn on Start Purrclick when Windows starts so it's always ready.

Activate your licence

  1. Buy once. Your key arrives by email.
  2. Open the dashboard, go to Licence.
  3. Paste the key and press Activate.
  4. One key works on one PC. New PC? Email us and we'll move it.

First time opening

  • Windows may show Windows protected your PC. Press More info, then Run anyway.
  • This happens with new apps from small makers. Purrclick doesn't change any system files.
  • Look for the orange cat at the right edge of your screen.

Something not working?

I can't see the cat

Find the cat icon near the clock. If it's hidden, press the small ^ arrow first. Right-click it and choose Show cat bubble. Still missing? Choose Reset cat position.

No sound at all

Check the cat isn't grey (off). Press Ctrl + Alt + M. Check the volume slider and your Windows volume. You might be in an app on the quiet list.

No cat icon near the clock

Purrclick is closed. Open Purrclick.exe again, or search "Purrclick" in the Start menu.

Sound stopped after plugging in headphones

Wait a couple of seconds and click again. If it's still quiet, quit Purrclick from the tray and open it again.

"Already running" message

Purrclick is already open. Look for the cat near the clock instead of opening it twice.

Key says it's used on another PC

Each key works on one PC. Email support with your order email and we'll move it to your new PC.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Purrclick?

A small Windows tray app that plays a soft sound for every click, scroll and keystroke, and draws a ripple under your cursor so clicks show up in screen recordings.

What do I get when I buy?

A download link for the installer and a unique licence key, both by email, the moment you pay. Paste the key into the app and everything unlocks.

Can I use one licence on two PCs?

No. One licence works on one PC. Got a new PC? Email us and we'll move your licence over.

Will clicks show in my recordings?

The ripple shows in any recorder because it's drawn on screen. The sound shows up when your recorder captures PC audio, which OBS and Loom both can.

Does it read what I type?

No. A key press only triggers a sound on your PC. Nothing is stored or sent, and it stays silent in Windows password boxes.

Will it work on my PC?

If your PC runs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), yes. Windows 7, 8 and 32-bit Windows aren't supported. The free 7-day trial is the easiest check: if it runs, the paid version will too.

Does it work on Mac, Chromebook or phones?

Not yet. Mac is coming next. Chromebooks, iPhones and Android phones can't run it, since they don't let apps hear taps in other apps.

Is it a subscription?

No. $4.99 once, with every update included. Fifi's milk is earned by clicking, never bought.

Go on, give your clicks a little meow.
